    Gordon Dress Tartan Clan History

    The clan established its powerful reputation in the northeast of Scotland, although the origin of its name lies in a location in Berwickshire, in the Borders, where it is recorded in the twelfth century. Loyal in its support of its support of Robert the Bruce, the clan also supported the Jacobite cause in the 1715 Rising, but was split in its allegiance during the 1745 Rising.
